Joliet Man Killed In Fiery Crash At Will County Intersection
Illinois State Police said the collision between a car and a tractor-trailer occurred shortly after 3 p.m. Friday.
WILL COUNTY, IL — A Joliet man died Friday afternoon in a fiery crash at a Will County intersection, according to authorities.
Illinois State Police said the collision occurred shortly after 3 p.m. at the intersection of Illinois Route 1 and County Line Road in Washington Township.
According to police, a vehicle driven by 47-year-old Manuel S. Del Toro of Joliet was traveling westbound on County Line Road when it failed to stop at the stop sign located at the intersection with Route 1. The vehicle was then struck by a tractor-trailer traveling northbound on Route 1.

Police said Del Toro's vehicle caught fire following the collision. Del Toro was pronounced dead at the scene.
A third vehicle was also involved in the collision, but police did not provide additional information about its involvement in the crash.

Del Toro's body was taken to the Will County Coroner's Office, where an autopsy was conducted Saturday. The cause and manner of death have not been released.
Illinois State Police are investigating the crash.
