Joliet Man Killed In Pedestrian Accident

A Joliet man died after he being struck by a vehicle Friday evening, the Will County Coroner said.

Mark A. Cipolla was involved in a pedestrian-vehicle accident Friday near the intersection of Western and Hickory in Joliet, the Herald-News reported.

He was taken to Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet where he was pronounced dead around 9:19 p.m.

An autopsy was scheduled for Saturday. The coroner’s office will make its final determination as to the cause of death at a later date following police, autopsy and toxicology reports.

Cipolla’s age was not immediately available.

Joliet police are continuing to investigate the accident.
