Joliet Man, 46, Soils Himself At Police Station Following Latest DUI Arrest, On Center Street: Police

JOLIET, IL — Joshwa Cooley, a 46-year-old Joliet man who was playing his car stereo obnoxiously loud during the early hours of the morning drew the attention of Joliet police, resulting in multiple charges including aggravated DUI-second offense, DUI, driving while license revoked and open alcohol possession, his arrest report showed.

The incident happened at 1 a.m. Sunday.

According to police spokesman Tizoc Landeros, Joliet officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Center Street for a disturbance.While officers were clearing the parking lot, they heard excessively loud music coming from a white SUV.
Officers attempted to have the driver of the SUV turn the music down. The driver, later identified as Cooley,
initially turned the music off before turning it back up and driving away, Landeros revealed.

While stopped at a stop sign near the location, Cooley made a right turn and nearly struck an officer, the arrest report noted. Officers subsequently conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle.
Officers made contact with the sole occupant and driver, Cooley. Cooley immediately became argumentative
with officers and refused to comply with their commands. He also exhibited behaviors consistent with possible
alcohol and/or drug impairment, the arrest report noted.

Cooley refused to perform field sobriety tests and was subsequently taken into custody without incident.
Cooley was transported to the Joliet Police Booking area, where he was asked to submit to a breathalyzer test;
however, he refused. Cooley also soiled himself while being processed, Landeros revealed.

In the end, Cooley was processed and released on a Notice to Appear. His Chevrolet Tahoe was towed from the
scene. The arrest reports indicate that Cooley comes from the 300 block of Hunter Avenue, right by St. Pat's.
