Joliet Man Stabs Woman In Chest, Drops Her Off At Silver Cross: JPD
The Joliet police spokesman said that when a child intervened, Morataya drove the victim to Silver Cross Hospital and dropped her off.

JOLIET, IL — A 37-year-old Joliet man from the 600 block of Raub Street was booked into the Will County Jail on Monday evening, several hours after Joliet police say he stabbed a woman in the chest and back and then drove to the emergency room, where he dropped her off. Williams Morataya has been charged with aggravated battery and domestic battery.
The stabbing victim is part of Morataya's household, police reports show.
Around 11:30 a.m., Joliet police were summoned to the emergency room at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox in reference to a Joliet woman who several multiple stab wounds from a knife.

"Further investigation determined that while the two were at their residence in the 600 block of Raub Street, an argument ensued," Joliet police reports indicate. "Williams picked up a knife and stabbed the victim in the back and chest area."
Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said that when a child intervened, Morataya drove the victim to Silver Cross Hospital and dropped her off.

Injuries to the victim were considered non-life-threatening, English noted.
Joliet police responded to the residence in the 600 block of Raub and placed Morataya into custody without incident. Raub Street is on the city's near west side, near Ruby Street.
