JOLIET, IL — A 49-year-old Joliet man from the 1300 block of North May Street was taken into custody at the Red Roof Inn following an ambulance call on Wednesday morning. After firefighter/paramedics responded to the call, Joliet police also were sent, since Eric Overstreet had multiple warrants out for his arrest.

Joliet police said Eric Overstreet was taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility for his Joliet arrest warrant for disorderly conduct and an arrest warrant from Clay County, Missouri for a DUI.

Back on Nov. 16, Joliet officers were called to Overstreet's house on May Street at 1:20 a.m. because Overstreet was making phone threats, police reports show.

Officers were again unable to locate Overstreet. The following day, Joliet detectives got a warrant for Overstreet's arrest on disorderly conduct.

Then, around 8:50 a.m., Joliet police went to the Red Roof Inn in the 1700 block of McDonough Street to help the Joliet Fire Department with Overstreet; he had called for an ambulance, English said.

Overstreet was taken to Ascension St Joseph Medical Center by the Joliet Fire Department for a mental health evaluation. Overstreet was released from the hospital in the early morning hours of Thanksgiving, and that's when Joliet police brought him to the Will County Jail.

Overstreet's bail is set at $5,000. He remained in jail on Friday morning, unable to post the necessary 10 percent, which is $500.
