Joliet Man Vows To Burn Down Woman's House: Complaint
A warrant was issued for Joliet police to arrest 49-year-old Eric Overstreet. The May Street resident spent most of October in county jail.

JOLIET, IL — Less than a month after being released from the Will County Jail, 49-year-old Joliet resident Eric Overstreet has a new warrant out for his arrest from the Joliet Police Department on disorderly conduct charges. The Joliet man's latest criminal complaint accuses him of threatening harm to the same woman after he was accused of slashing all four tires on her vehicle Oct. 8.
Last Wednesday, Overstreet told the same woman "that he had gasoline and threatened to burn down her residence in such unreasonable manner as to alarm or disturb another ... and to provoke a breach of the peace," states Joliet police's criminal complaint.
Will County Judge Victoria Breslin issued the warrant for Overstreet's arrest on Thursday, setting bail at $5,000.

As of Monday morning, Overstreet was not in custody at the Will County Jail, where he was incarcerated from Oct. 8 through Oct. 26 on his other felony charges, theft and criminal property damage.
The arrest warrant listed Overstreet as being a resident of the 1300 block of North May Street, which is right off West Jefferson Street.

Meanwhile, earlier this month, a different woman who lives on Marquette Road filed an emergency order of protection against Overstreet and her petition was granted by a Will County judge.
"On Wednesday (Nov. 2) he came to my house yelling my name. He parks a few houses down and sneaks up to the porch. I don't answer the door when he comes. He was just in jail for going to (another woman's) house and threatening her. I don't want him coming and doing that to me."
The 43-year-old woman's protection order petition also states, "Around 9 p.m., Eric came to my house asking for money. I would not give him any. He got mad and started yelling. I could not understand exactly what he was saying. He appeared to be drunk."
