JOLIET, IL — Joliet police are looking for a 39-year-old resident who has been charged with harassment by telephone and harassment through electronic communications. In one of his angry phone calls from June 16, criminal defendant Ely Rolando Villagrana left a voicemail informing the woman of his intentions to kill her, the criminal complaint noted.

According to Will County prosecutors, Villagrana sent the woman text messages on June 15 that declared: "U a garbage bitch simple as that. Have them pay me or ur days ain't shot c***. I'm counting your breaths bitch. You have 24 hours. Cry who yal want to worthless f***."

Villagrana's harassment by telephone charge states that he used his phone for the purpose of making comments that are obscene, lewd, lascivious, filthy or indecent, with the intent to offend.

His bail was set at $100,000. As of Friday evening, the Joliet 39-year-old remained at large.

Villagrana spent one day in the Will County Jail on Feb. 24 after Bolingbrook police arrested him on charges of possession of controlled substances, theft and battery. In that case, his bail was set at $15,000 and he posted the necessary 10 percent bond about 14 hours after his detention.
