Joliet Man Vows To Shoot Everyone As He Waves His Gun On Sandy Drive: Police

JOLIET, IL — A 45-year-old Joliet man is no longer in custody following his arrest by Joliet police over the weekend on charges of aggravated assault.

Police spokesman Tizoc Landeros said that at approximately 11 p.m. on Saturday, officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of Sandy Drive for a report of someone waving a firearm and threatening to shoot everyone.

Landeros said the officers encountered Eulises Ramos and detained him. Ramos was not armed at the time.

Officers then spoke with the victims, a 24-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man, both of Joliet and adult children of Ramos. They, along with witnesses, told officers that Ramos came home and appeared to be intoxicated.

According to an arrest report, an argument ensued between Ramos and an adult son. Ramos then entered the residence and returned with a gun, threatening to shoot everyone, police alleged.

According to Landeros, officers were given permission to search the residence for the gun. The weapon was located and was not loaded.

Ramos did have the proper credentials to own and possess a firearm, Landeros said.

In the end, Ramos was arrested and transported to the Joliet Police booking area.

Ramos was interviewed and denied the
allegations, police said. He was processed and released on a notice to appear.
