Joliet Man Who Reports Car Stolen Goes To Jail
It's a Will County Sheriff's Department case.

JOLIET, IL - About once a month, someone in Will County gets charged with filing a false police report. This month, the Will County Sheriff's Office hauled away 51-year-old Joliet resident David Randall in handcuffs, charging him with disorderly conduct. The complaint at the courthouse indicates the incident that led to Randall's arrest occurred on May 2.
Court records state that Randall "knowingly transmitted to Andrew Paver, a peace officer with the Will County Sheriff's Police Department, a report to the effect of that an offense has been committed, in that he reported that his maroon Chrysler ... was recently stolen, knowing at the time of such transmission, that there was no reasonable ground for believing such offense will be, is being, or was committed."
Randall lives on the east side, in 1300 block of Elgin Avenue, jail logs show. His bail was set at $20,000 and he has been unable to come up with 10 percent to get out of custody. Randall lived at the Will County Jail most of last year, from June 1 through Oct. 31, after Bolingbrook Police arrested him on charges of theft and retail theft, jail logs reflect.
