Joliet Marijuana Dealer With Stolen Gun Arrested On Briggs: JPD
Around 9:25 p.m. Joliet police stopped Stanley Russell, 55, near West Oak Avenue and South Briggs Street.

JOLIET, IL — Joliet police booked 55-year-old resident Stanley Russell into the Will County Jail after police say he had a loaded gun inside his car as well as cocaine, after he disobeyed a stop sign along South Briggs Street Sunday night.
Russell lives on the city's east in the 500 block of Francis Street. He's being charged with armed criminal habitual, armed violence, unlawful possession of a gun by a felon, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of controlled substances, delivery of marijuana, unlawful possession of ammunition and having no valid FOID.
The traffic stop leading to Russell's incarceration happened around 9:25 p.m. near West Oak Avenue.

"Officers recovered a loaded 9 mm handgun from his waistband," police spokesman Dwayne English indicated. "Officers also recovered suspected cocaine and cannabis while searching Russell."
After searching Russell's car, Joliet police said they found individually packaged cannabis, and officers later learned the gun Russell had with him was previously reported stolen.

Russell’s vehicle was towed from the scene.
