Joliet McDonald's Sued After Bathroom Incident In 2019
The McDonald's Corporation finds itself as a defendant in a new civil lawsuit filed against the Joliet business on Plainfield Road.

JOLIET, IL — A woman who visited the Plainfield Road McDonald's last year has filed a lawsuit against the international fast-food giant, contending she was injured when a bathroom toilet paper roll dislodged and smacked her in the head.
Debra Dupin is being represented by the Chicago personal injury law firm of Rubin & Machado on North LaSalle Street. According to attorney Justin Garner, Dupin was a customer inside the Joliet McDonald's, 2885 West Plainfield Road, on July 29, 2019. During her visit, Dupin "was using the ladies' washroom and present inside the stall when the toilet paper dispenser came dislodged striking plaintiff, Debra Dupin, in the head," her lawsuit states.
According to the plaintiffs, McDonald's was negligent because its employees had a duty to keep and maintain its restaurant and the adjacent areas "in a reasonably safe condition for the safety of its intended users, in particular, Debra Dupin."
