JOLIET, IL — A 28-year-old woman from Crest Hill has been arrested by Joliet police in connection with Monday afternoon's hit-and-run crash that killed motorcycle rider Derek Walsh in a parking lot in the 1100 block of Plainfield Road. Bail was set at $2 million.

Joliet police announced that D'Kiva Jones, who lives in Crest Hill, faces charges of first-degree murder, aggravated battery and leaving the scene of an accident.

Police told Patch that Jones was driving the light green, 2008 Ford Escape that ran over Walsh in the parking lot. Joliet police have said the woman collided with Walsh's parked motorcycle and during an argument, she hit the gas and ran him over, killing him. The driver sped away before Joliet police and paramedics got to the scene.
