Joliet Native Tavaras Hardy to Coach at Georgetown
Hardy, an assistant coach at his alma mater Northwestern University, said he was lured by the chance to coach a potential championship team.

The lure of working with a possible championship basketball team proved to be the key to luring Joliet native Tavaras Hardy away from his alma mater Northwestern University for the greener grass of Georgetown.
Hardy, an assistant coach who's made a name for himself recruiting players, told the Chicago Tribune that the other attraction was a chance to work with longtime friend John Thompson III, Georgetown's coach.
“It wasn’t about money or anything like that,” Hardy told the paper. “It was an opportunity to grow in my career.”
When Hardy played for the Northwestern Wildcats, he was named MVP three times.
