Joliet Park District Director Resigns

The resignation comes after an internal investigation that reportedly focused on the director's relationship with a female employee.

Joliet Park District Director Dominic Egizio has resigned, according to a release from the Joliet Park District.

Egizio has served as director since April 2004 and tendered his resignation Oct. 2.

JPD Finance Director Matt Pehle has been appointed interim director until a permanent one is found.

The resignation comes after an internal investigation that focused on Egizio’s relationship with a female employee, according to The Herald-News.

Sources have said that Egizio was placed on leave after the park district received a demand letter from a lawyer representing the female employee, who was said to be seeking payment and other action to resolve the situation.
