Coroner IDs Joliet Woman Killed On The Hill

Joliet Police responded to one murder on the city's near west side and one five hours later on the east side.

JOLIET, IL — On Friday, the Will County Coroner's Office identified the woman whose body was found on on the east side of Joliet around 5 a.m. on Thursday as 25-year-old Shaianne Williams of Joliet. Her homicide is being investigated by Joliet Police and the circumstances surrounding her death are being quiet as part of the criminal investigation, authorities told Patch on Friday.

At 5:07 a.m., Joliet Police officers responded to the intersection of California Avenue and Rosalind Street for a person found on the ground.

Responding officers found Williams deceased with trauma to her body. Will County court records indicate that Williams used to live in Chicago. In 2016, she was convicted here in Will County of committing aggravated battery against a police officer.
