Joliet Police Arrest McBride's On 52 Customer, 'Employees Asked Him To Leave': English Reveals

When Eric Tyler again approached an officer aggressively, he was taken into custody without further incident, police said.

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department responded in the middle of the night last week to McBride's On 52, at 2727 W. Jefferson St., and the incident ended with the arrest of 38-year-old Joliet resident Eric Tyler on charges of aggravated assault, theft of services and criminal trespass.

According to police spokesman Dwayne English, at 1:03 a.m. March 18, at officers responded to McBrides on 52 for an issue with a customer. English said a man had been drinking at the bar, and after multiple attempts to process his payment were declined, the man allegedly became irate and began yelling at staff.

Employees asked him to leave several times before he ultimately fled the area, according to police. Officers later located the man in the 2400 block of West Jefferson Street and identified him as Eric Tyler.

"During the encounter, Tyler allegedly became confrontational, repeatedly stepping into an officer’s personal space and making an aggressive statement," English said. "When Tyler again approached an officer in an aggressive manner, he was taken into custody without further incident."

Tyler was processed at the Joliet Police Department and released on a notice to appear in court.
