Joliet Police Bust Cocaine Dealer Hugo Salas: Complaint

Salas had been a resident of Bolingbrook until Joliet Police arrested him on eight criminal charges.

JOLIET, IL — A 27-year-old suspected cocaine dealer was recently apprehended by the Joliet Police Department on eight criminal charges. Hugo Salas was taken into custody on Aug. 14 and his bail was set at $500,000. Salas faces one Class X felony charge of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. The complaint states that Salas unlawfully possessed between 15 and 100 grams of cocaine in Joliet on Aug. 12.

A second charge, possession of a gun without requisite firearm owner's identification card, indicates Salas possessed .357-caliber ammunition without having in his possession a Firearm Owner's Identification Card that was previously in his name by the State Police.

Furthermore, the criminal complaint accuses Salas of six additional counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance. He is accused of delivering between 1 and 15 grams of cocaine in Joliet on the following dates: July 30, on Aug. 6, Aug. 12, June 18, June 24 and July 15.

Salas is a resident of Bolingbrook and he lives in the 1400 block of Camache Drive. He remained incarcerated in Will County's Jail as of Aug. 25, jail logs show.
