JOLIET, IL — An 18-year-old Joliet resident remains behind bars at the Will County Jail in connection with Tuesday's early morning shooting of a 15-year-old girl who Joliet Police say was the unintended victim. Keante Luckey is now in police custody facing charges of aggravated discharge of a gun, reckless discharge of a gun, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and no FOID.

Joliet Police first learned of the non-fatal shooting around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 1, when officers were summoned to Silver Cross Hospital. The 15-year-old girl had suffered non-life threatening gunshot wounds, police say.

"Through the course of the investigation, detectives were able to determine that Luckey and the juvenile had planned on meeting up with a (person) in the area of Spring Street and Hickory Street reference to a drug deal," Joliet Police stated. "The juvenile entered the (other person's) vehicle while Luckey watched nearby.
