Joliet Police Officer Hit In The Face Multiple Times: Prosecutors

JOLIET, IL — A 28-year-old Joliet resident from the 500 block of Elmwood Avenue is in the Will County Jail following his attack upon a Joliet police officer on Sept. 12, according to Will County prosecutors.

The State's Attorney's Office of Jim Glasgow has charged Eric Small with three counts of aggravated battery, and his bail was set at $50,000 for the incident. The criminal complaint indicates that Small struck the Joliet police officer in the face multiple times, and Small also kicked the officer's body.

Small remains unable to post 10 percent of his $50,000 bail, and his next hearing at the Will County Courthouse was set for Sept. 28 in Courtroom 405 of Judge Dave Carlson.
