Joliet Police Seeking Man In Connection With Ongoing Investigation

Police are asking for public assistance in identifying a man shown in a video surveillance photo that Joliet Police officials posted online.

JOLIET, IL — Joliet Police are seeking public assistance in identifying a man that is being sought in connection with an ongoing police investigation involving financial fraud, police said on Monday.

The Police Department included three photos of the man in a social media post but did not provide information about the nature of the investigation. In an email to Patch on Monday evening, a Joliet Police spokesman said that the person was shown on an ATM surveillance camera allegedly taking money from a victim's bank account without their knowledge.

Police describe the man as wearing a puffy hooded jacket and wearing blue pants and tennis shoes. In the ATM surveillance camera photo, was seen wearing a medical face mask. The man also appears to have a tattoo on his right hand, police said.

Anyone with information regarding the identification of the man is asked to call Detective Gombosi with the Joliet Police Department at (815) 724-3188. Local residents can also contact Will County Crime Stoppers at 800-323-6734 or online at the CrimeStoppers website. Tipsters are permitted to remain anonymous.
