JOLIET, IL — First Midwest Bank has been the banking institution for thousands of people in the Joliet area for years, but you won't find any First Midwest Bank signs in Joliet this week. They're all gone.

Both West Jefferson Street banks now have the Old National Bank signs.

On Wednesday, Patch editor Lauren Traut reported that First Midwest Bank customers making the transition to Old National Bank amidst a merger have encountered difficulties and frustrations throughout the process, with many noting hours-long phone waits, missing or malfunctioning debit cards, and online access issues.
