Joliet Shooting Victim, 48, Crashes Into Fence
Around 8:30 p.m., Joliet police responded to the 900 block of Draper Avenue for a report of a person that had been shot.

JOLIET, IL — Joliet police detectives are now trying to solve the city's first shooting of the week after a 48-year-old man sitting inside his parked car was shot around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. The man's gunshot wounds left him in critical condition, but he was stable, according to Joliet police.
Police spokesman Dwayne English said:
- Officers responded to the 900 block of Draper Avenue for a report of a person that had been shot.
- They found the 48-year-old man shooting victim in a vehicle.
- A preliminary investigation of this shooting determined that while the victim sat in the driver’s seat of a vehicle in the 900 block of Magnolia Avenue, he was shot by someone who was outside of the vehicle.
- After being shot, the victim drove away and eventually crashed into a fence in the 900 block of Draper Avenue.
- The victim was taken to Silver Cross Hospital by the Joliet Fire Department.
