A woman's tires were slashed by this man, according to Joliet police.

JOLIET, IL — They say technology can be an awesome thing, but in the wrong hands, it can lead to trouble. Last weekend, Joliet Police officers arrested 24-year-old Plainfield resident Anthony Olivo on felony criminal charges of property damage. Police say the crime resulted from a heated dispute on the popular social media platform Snapchat.

Squad cars pulled up to the 2400 block of Ruth Fitzgerald Drive around 11 a.m. Friday to investigate the property damage crime.

At the scene, the victim told Joliet Police "she heard a noise from outside and when she and her son went outside to check what the noise was, (she) saw that there was damage done to her vehicle," police reports show.

Less than an hour later, Joliet Police officers on patrol spotted the suspect's vehicle. The squad car activated its red and blue flashing lights. The motorist pulled over.

"The driver was Olivo. An investigation determined that Olivo was responsible for the damage due to problems he was having with the victim’s son. Olivo was taken into custody for the above offense," police reports show.

Olivo, who lives in the 24100 block of West Simo Drive, in Plainfield, remained in Will County detention on Tuesday. His bail was set at $150,000.

Olivo also spent weeks in the county jail on different occasions in 2017. Those criminal charges related to robbery and aggravated battery against a victim who was more than 60 years old, jail logs at Will County indicate.
