Joliet Squad Car Punched Several Times By Angry Cicero Man: JPD
Joliet police got a report of an intoxicated man bothering other customers at the Shell Gas Station, 4230 West Jefferson Street.

JOLIET, IL — A 45-year-old intoxicated Cicero man was arrested by Joliet police late Saturday night at the Shell gas station near the Interstate 55 exit after authorities say he punched a Joliet police car several times and later slugged an officer in the chest.
Officers hauled away Pedro Andrade in handcuffs, and he got booked into the Will County Jail around 2:15 a.m. Sunday on aggravated battery to a police officer charges.
Joliet police went to the Shell station at 4230 West Jefferson Street around 11:40 p.m. for a report of an intoxicated man bothering the other gas station customers.

A Shell station employee told Andrade to go away and leave the business, but he refused and kept bothering the other customers, police said.
"While speaking with officers, Andrade walked over to a squad car and began punching at the passenger side windows," Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English announced.

A Joliet Fire Department ambulance was called to the Shell station due to Andrade’s level of alcohol intoxication, police noted.
"When the ambulance arrived, Andrade grew angry and began spitting at officers and threatening them," English indicated.
Joliet police took Andrade into custody after he approached an officer, punching them in the chest, police noted.
The ambulance brought Andrade to Ascension St Joseph Medical Center, and he got released from the hospital a short time later. From there, he was taken to the Joliet Police Department for processing and then to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
The Cicero man remained in the Will County Jail, unable to post 10 percent of his $20,000 bail.
