Joliet Stabbing Defendant Faces 4 Criminal Charges

Will County Sheriff's deputies arrested east side resident Scott Lorenc in connection with a non-fatal stabbing that happened June 26.

JOLIET, IL — A 36-year-old Joliet man who spent four days in the Will County Jail last week after being arrested following a non-fatal stabbing is no longer in custody.

Will County Jail records indicate that Scott Lorenc was released from detention on June 29 after posting 10 percent of his $25,000 bail.

Will County Sheriff's deputies hauled away Lorenc in handcuffs on June 26. As part of his bail, Lorenc must stay away from the man he is accused of stabbing in the head. Lorenc has been charged with aggravated battery, battery, obstructing a peace officer and use of a deadly weapon.

The criminal complaint indicated that Lorenc tried to run away from the crime when Will County deputies ordered him to stop. Lorenc used a knife to stab the man in the head, the complaint noted. Lorenc lives in the 400 block of Joliet's Burke Drive.
