Joliet Starbucks Arrest, Man Spends 45 Minutes In Bathroom: Police
At 4:23 p.m., Joliet police officers say they responded to the Starbucks at 1536 Route 59 for an unwanted person, Brandon Reed.

JOLIET, IL — It's rare for Joliet police officers to enter one of the many Starbucks Coffee shops throughout the city to make an arrest, but that happened last week and officers took 30-year-old Aurora resident Brandon Reed into custody.
Police say Reed was arrested and given his notice to appear in Will County court on charges of obstructing justice and criminal trespass. In addition, Reed was taken to the Will County Jail for having 11 Aurora Police Department warrants, one Kane County Sheriff's warrant, and one Batavia Police Department warrant.

On February 28, 2024, at 4:23 p.m., Joliet police went to the Starbucks at 1536 Route 59 for an unwanted person.
Officers learned that a man later identified as Reed, had come into the store and remained in the Starbucks bathroom for approximately 45 minutes. Reed then refused to leave when asked by store employees. Reed ignored numerous commands from Joliet police to leave the establishment, and he initially refused to provide his name.

Reed was escorted out of the store and was placed into custody without incident. Officers confirmed Reed’s identification and learned he had 13 active arrest warrants from the other police jurisdictions.
