Joliet SWAT Team Called To Center Street: Resident Jailed
The Joliet Police Department Special Operations Squad and Crisis Negotiation Team responded to the scene on South Center Street.

JOLIET, IL — Joseph A. Brown, a 30-year-old resident who appeared to be under the influence of various unknown substances, was captured Thursday night on several counts of domestic battery during an incident in the 200 block of South Center Street, Joliet police announced.
A Joliet Fire Department ambulance was sent to the scene and Brown was taken to the Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center for treatment.

Around 6:45 p.m., Brown attacked two women inside a residence on South Center, and he ran away before the police got there.
Police learned Brown may have returned to the basement of the house, perhaps with a weapon.

Officers tried to contact Brown several times without any success.
The department summoned its Special Operations Squad and Crisis Negotiation Team to establish a perimeter around the property.
As the incident unfolded, police spotted Brown across the street from the house on Center Street, and he was taken into custody for several counts of domestic battery.
"A press release with updated criminal charges and mugshot will be provided once this information becomes available," English stated.
On Saturday night, Brown was booked into the Will County Jail on three counts of domestic battery. His bail has not been set.
