JOLIET, IL — Just days after Joliet City Council member Larry Hug announced he is 95 percent sure that he will run for the State Senate seat being vacated by Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant, a Joliet Township High School Board member, Meg Loughran Cappel, announced that she will run for the office.

"A special education teacher elected to the Joliet Township School Board in April of 2017, Loughran Cappel is a lifelong Will County native dedicated to serving the community," Thursday's press release stated.

According to her candidate profile, Loughran Cappel is a member and former union representative with American Federation of Teachers Local 604, a part of the Sunday morning teaching team at Legacy Vineyard Community Church and a member of the Shorewood Chamber of Commerce.
