JOLIET, IL —The City of Joliet issued a press release on Thursday that announced a proposed Community Investment Commitment from Hillwood and PowerHouse Data Centers related to the development of the Joliet Technology Center, a major technology infrastructure project that could bring significant economic investment and job creation to the community.
Under the proposed framework, the developer has committed up to $100 million to improve Joliet’s sidewalks, streets, and City services. An initial $20 million would be provided to the City within 30 days of closing on the property. Additional contributions of $20 million would be provided prior to the issuance of building permits for each of the four phases of the development, city of Joliet leaders revealed.
The proposed agreement will be considered by the Joliet City Council on Monday, March 16, as part of the broader development proposal.
