Joliet Teen Caught With Gun: Cops
Daniel Briceno now finds himself in custody at the Will County Jail.

JOLIET, IL - An 18-year-old Joliet teenager was arrested on Wednesday evening after Joliet Police say he was riding in a car in illegal possession of a gun. Daniel Briceno now finds himself charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, illegal possession of a gun and having no FOID card. According to Joliet Police, officers saw a blue Ford Escape blow a stop sign at Benton and Herkimer Street around 7:30 p.m.
"While talking to the driver of the vehicle, the officers noticed an open can of alcoholic beverage inside the vehicle," police said.
After everyone was ordered out of the car, police say that Briceno dropped a live ammunition round on the ground.

During further questioning, police say that "Briceno admitted there was a handgun under the front passenger seat."
The officers checked around and found a gun, they said.

Briceno, who lives in the 600 block of Dover Street, now finds himself incarcerated in Will County's jail. He was slated to appear before a judge for a bail hearing on Thursday afternoon.
