Joliet Teenager Shot Several Times In St. Pat's Area: Police

Joliet police say the getaway car sped off after shooting the 17-year-old boy several times on Thursday afternoon.

JOLIET, IL — A 17-year-old boy was shot several times on Thursday afternoon in the 200 block of Illinois Street, in Joliet's St. Pat's Area. Joliet police say the shooting happened at 2:13 p.m.

The teenager was struck by gunfire from a passing vehicle while the boy was standing outside of a house, police spokesman Dwayne English announced. The vehicle in the drive-by shooing sped off before police got to the scene.

The teenager suffered a gunshot wound to one of his legs and he was also grazed by gunfire. The juvenile was transported by the Joliet Fire Department to Ascension St Joseph Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, English said.
