Joliet West QB Named Comcast SportsNet High School Athlete of the Week

Joliet West High School quarterback Alex Tibble led the Tigers victory on Friday with two touchdown passes against the Sandburg Eagles, ending the game 21-10. The impressive junior quarterback caught the attention of Comcast SportsNet Chicago and will be recognized as “Allstate High School Athlete of the Week.”

“On behalf of Comcast SportsNet Chicago, we would like to recognize Joliet West QB Alex Tibble as our “Allstate High School Athlete of the Week” for his contributions and leadership on and off the field, with a special nod to his performance (2 TDs) at Sandburg Friday night,” said CSN Chicago Managing Editor Joe Collins.

CSN Chicago will have a camera crew on-site at Tuesday’s varsity football practice. Interviews with both Alex and Coach Aubry will take place on-camera and video footage will be taken of the football team in action.

The segment will run during this Friday’s “High School Lites” program on Comcast SportsNet Chicago. There will also be a written portion of the story on csnchicago.com. The original running of the segment will air in the 11 p.m. show. ”High School Lites” will re-air the following Saturday at 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.

“Congratulations to Alex Tibble and the JWHS football team for this honor. I am so proud of Alex, our football team, and our coaches for the success they have shown so far this season,” said Joliet West High School Athletic Director Steven Millsaps.

Joliet West High School is 3-1 and the Tigers will take on Bolingbrook High School on Saturday, September 27 at 1 p.m.
