Joliet West’s Dalyla Martinez Earns Third Place at IHSA State Journalism Finals

JOLIET, IL — Joliet West High School journalist Dalyla Martinez earned third place in Newspaper Design at the Illinois High School Association State Journalism Finals held at Heartland Community College over the weekend.
Martinez advanced to the state competition after placing first in Newspaper Design at sectionals.

“Dalyla’s achievement at the state level reflects her creativity, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence in journalism,” said Jenn Galloy, Joliet West High School journalism instructor. “We are incredibly proud of her and all of our students who represented Joliet West so well throughout the season.”
Joliet West High School congratulates all students who qualified for the state competition. Competitors included Dalyla Martinez, Alaina Potocki, Aspen Ramirez, Nevaeh Walker, Emmett Kelly, Courtesy Griffin, Ava Enderli, and Maia James.
