Joliet Woman, 25, Dies In I-55 Crash
The Illinois State Police announced that the 25-year-old Joliet resident was killed around 3:40 a.m. on the Joliet stretch of Interstate 55.
JOLIET, IL — Illinois State Police announced that 25-year-old Jamie Stark of Joliet died during an overnight crash when she lost control of her car along Interstate 55 and crashed into a ditch.
Police said Stark's crash happened around 3:50 a.m. Monday on the southbound stretch of I-55 near milepost 253 in Joliet. She was driving a 2011 gold Chrysler 200.
According to police, Stark's car left the roadway to the right, striking a ditch, causing the car to overturn. The Joliet woman was pronounced dead at the scene by the Will County Coroner’s Office.

The southbound lanes of I-55 near milepost 253 were closed for approximately one hour during the crash investigation, authorities said.
