JOLIET, IL — It's been three years since Joliet resident Taylor Harmon made Joliet Patch headlines following her Joliet police arrest in connection with allegations of child abuse and intoxication. In the summer of 2023, Taylor Harmon was seen throwing her 5-month-old baby boy into an infant carrier and violently shaking the carrier, Joliet police said.

On Wednesday, the Will County Sheriff's Office announced to everyone that the now-28-year-old Harmon is the focus of their weekly Wednesday Warrants Facebook bulletin. The sheriff's deputies are out trying to find her but having no success. All they know is that she has resided in Joliet.

In the summer of 2023, Joliet Patch reported that a Will County judge granted a protection order for a 26-year-old woman seeking to keep Harmon out of her life in the event that the Joliet woman accused of serious child abuse posted her bond, which was set at $150,000/10 percent at the time.

The Joliet police incident involving Harmon's infant happened in the 100 block of North Center Street, where Harmon resided at the time.

"I am requesting an order of protection against Taylor because I went into her apartment last night because I heard her yelling obscenities to her 5-month-old baby," the order of protection stated. "She slammed the baby into his car seat and (he) has injuries on the back of his head and neck.

"She was vigorously shaking the infant carrier to where he had to be hospitalized and he is still in the hospital. She was high and drunk when the police arrived."

The order of protection against Harmon stated that "when she uses cannabis, her behavior gets worse. She stated she would kill me and called (me) a f****** bitch."

In the summer of 2023, Joliet Patch reported that Harmon's little boy was initially taken to St. Joe's hospital by a Joliet Fire Department ambulance. Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said it was his understanding the little boy was transferred to a different hospital, Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, but was still in the care of the Department of Child and Family Services.

According to Will County court records, in August 2023 Harmon pleaded guilty to separate crimes of domestic battery and endangering the life or health of a child. Other charges were dropped under her plea bargain.

Harmon was then ordered released from the Will County Jail as part of her guilty plea and sentencing. She was put on 30 months of court probation and in February, a petition to revoke her probation was filed in Will County because Harmon failed to show up in the courthouse and she's been on the run ever since.
