Joliet Woman Stabs and Slashes Unwanted Roommate: Police
The woman had sought a protective order the same day but left court before pleading her case, according to court records.

A Joliet woman cut up an unwanted roommate who refused to leave, police said.
Joan Watkins, 58, was arrested at her Notre Dame Avenue home and shipped off to the Will County jail in connection with the Thursday morning incident.
Watkins ordered her 24-year-old roommate of the past two months, Chinesicia Hill-King, to move out shortly before 11 a.m. Hill-King reportedly replied that she had established residency and Watkins would have to go through eviction proceedings to get rid of her.

Watkins then allegedly kicked Hill-King in the stomach and the groin, and proceeded to follow her into the bathroom, punching her in the back of the head along the way.
Hill-King, who had tried without success to take shelter in the bathroom, then tried to leave the bathroom, police said. Somewhere along the way, Watkins got her hands on a knife and allegedly sliced the back of Hill-King’s arm and jabbed the point of the blade into her roommate’s face below her left eye.

Both wounds were minor, police said.
Earlier that same morning, Watkins wrote up a petition for a protective order against Hill-King. In her petition, Watkins said Hill-King attacked her and pushed her into a wall.
“She threatened to kill me,” Watkins said. “She was calling me a old bitches. She hurt my neck, back and arm, I had surgery on my neck and still am in therapy.
“China grabbed me and she was choking me,” Watkins said. “She told me she would burn the house down.”
Watkins also said she “cannot protect (herself) against such a big person as China.” She claimed Hill-King is 5-foot-5 and 250 pounds, but jail records say she is only 230.
Watkins is 5-foot-8 and 210 pounds, according to jail records.
The case was dismissed because Watkins took off before she was called before the judge, according to court records.
