Joliet's Chick-fil-A Needs To Fill These Jobs

If you work at Chick-fil-A, you will always have your Sundays off to spend time with family and friends, the company says.

JOLIET, IL — In roughly six or seven weeks, Joliet's first Chick-fil-A fast-food restaurant will open for business at 2705 Plainfield Road. But before people can pull into the new double drive-thru to order a chicken sandwich, waffle fries or those tasty chicken nuggets, the company needs to make several hires.

The Facebook page for the soon-to-be opening Joliet Chick-fil-A indicates that several jobs are available. The job listings indicate the new Chick-fil-A will open in January.

Shift Leader, part-time and full-time jobs available:

"Team Leaders are responsible for supervising assigned stations for an entire shift and may be assigned to open or close the restaurant in the absence of a manager; following established opening and closing procedures," the job opening notes.

Front of House Team member, part-time and full-time jobs available:

"As a FOH Team Member, you will welcome & greet guests, take and prepare customer orders in either the front counter or drive-thru, maintain cleanliness in the counter and dining room, observe health and sanitation guidelines, and ensure each guest leaves with a smile," the company announced.

Back of House Team member, part-time and full-time jobs available:

"As a BOH Team Member, you will support the kitchen team, assemble food & drink orders quickly and accurately, and ensure each guest leaves with a smile. We are looking for friendly, enthusiastic people who enjoy serving customers. We will teach you everything else you need to know," the company says.

Meanwhile, a lot of people in the Joliet area have heard lots of buzz about Chick-fil-A, but they may not know the history behind the Atlanta-area restaurant franchise.

According to the company website, S. Truett Cathy started Chick-fil-A in 1946 along with his brother, Ben. At that time, they called their Atlanta-based diner The Dwarf House. By 1967, Cathy opened their first official Chick-fil-A at the Greenbriar Shopping Center in Atlanta. "Today, Chick-fil-A has the highest same-store sales and is the largest quick-service chicken restaurant chain in the United States based on annual system-wide sales," the company proclaims.
