It's Joliet's Gateway Center Grand Opening
The city of Joliet is holding a special event to mark the occasion.

JOLIET, IL - On Wednesday, April 11, the new Joliet train station will open to the public, the city's website proclaims. "Amtrak and Metra ticket agents will operate from the new building and the temporary trailers will be closed." The construction of the new train station has been a work in progress for years. Now, the city of Joliet will be holding a special event to mark the occasion.
"Please join us for complimentary coffee and donuts in the main lobby between 4:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. to celebrate," the city of Joliet announced on its website.

According to the city, Metra ticket agent hours are from 4:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Amtrak ticket agent hours are from 5:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday-Friday, and Sat-Sun 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Site work and construction activities will continue on the street and parking lot thru May, the city advised.
