Joliet's Inwood Athletic Club To Reopen To Public On Monday

The club will operate under reduced hours and group classes and lap swimming will require reservations to adhere to state safety guidelines.

JOLIET, IL — The Inwood Athletic Club will reopen on Monday after Gov. J.B. Pritzker announced this week that the state will enter Stage 4 of his Restore Illinois reopening plan on Friday. Under the plan, a wide range of businesses, including fitness centers, can reopen with safety guidelines and limits on gathering sizes in place.

Inwood announced on its website that the club will open at 4:30 a.m. Monday and that memberships will be activated beginning on Friday. Under its reopening plan, the club will operate with limited hours and will require reserved time on fitness floor, reserved group exercise classes and reserved pool lanes for swimming as a way of adhering to state social distancing guidelines.

“We have been working diligently as we prepare to reopen, and we are incredibly excited to see you back in your fitness home,” club management wrote on the website post. “As we adjust to the Phase 4 protocols set in place by the Governor, please know that things will not operate in the same manner as they used to. We appreciate your patience as we work through this process.”
