K Ribs BBQ Off To Great Start
The one of a kind restaurant is in downtown Joliet on North Chicago Street.

JOLIET, IL - Every great restaurant has to have a signature dish. It's now been more than two weeks since K Ribs BBQ opened for business on North Chicago Street, right next to the Joliet Junior College Culinary Arts campus.
Joliet Patch recently circled back to K Ribs to re-interview owner Dillon Kim. Patch wanted to know how the business is doing. Where are customers coming from? What meals are popular?
Kim told Patch he's been pleasantly surprised that K Ribs has been attracting several out of town customers, besides people from Joliet.

He said a number of people who introduced themselves told him they came from as far away as Morris, Wilmington, Mokena and Orland Park.
On the first weekend of business, Oct. 19-20, Kim said there were at least four families from Chicago who drove to Joliet to try the food.

"I was just so surprised to have that many people, Morris and Wilmington and Mokena," he said.
Kim said that K Ribs BBQ is working hard to make sure customers receive generous portions of their meal.
There's a K BBQ Platter advertised for $59.99 for a family of four. However, several guests have told Kim the meal can serve six people.
At the moment, the most popular menu item for walk-in customers has been the Galbi, which is the boneless beef short rib pictured below.
The second most popular item has been the Bulgogi Beef Sliced Ribeye, he said.
"Lunch is doing really good, the dinner time we have the family meals," Kim said.
There have also been a number of local companies that have ordered carryout, meals for 20 to 25 people, Kim said.
Eventually, K BBQ plans to offer a delivery service in the Joliet area.
Kim said there are meal discounts available for Joliet Junior College students, military veterans, Will County government workers, city of Joliet employees and police and firefighters.
The restaurant at 221 N. Chicago St. is open to 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and noon to 7 p.m. on Sunday. The number for carryout is 779-242-1152.
