'Sloppy Joe' Stofko Caught With Child Porn: Channahon

CHANNAHON, IL - On Friday night, the Channahon Police Department announced the arrest of Joseph "Sloppy Joe" Stofko on child pornography charges. Stofko has been charged with two counts of Possession of Child Pornography and is at the Will County Adult Correction Facility. Additional charges are still under review.

A press release issued by Channahon's deputy chief Adam Bogart states the Morris Police Department received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children concerning the use of a “Dropbox” account used to store and share known images of child pornography last November.

According to police, the tip eventually led to an IP address in Channahon.

"With the assistance of the Will County State’s Attorney’s High Tech Crime Bureau and the Illinois Attorney General’s Office ICAC Division, Channahon Police executed a search warrant in the 22500 block of Deal Avenue in Channahon on May 11. Investigation at that scene led investigators to the residence of Joseph “Sloppy Joe” Stofko, 26, in the 600 block of Mack Street in Joliet."

On a computer recovered from Stofko, investigators discovered several files of known child pornography, police said.

"Anyone with information about Joseph A. Stofko, who is also known as “Sloppy Joe,” should contact the Channahon Police Dept. at 815-467-2112," police asked.
