Joliet's Woods Shot 2 At Woodlands Apartments: Crest Hill Police

Crest Hill officers made the arrest of the 22-year-old Joliet man Tuesday morning. Woods shot two people last week, police say.

CREST HILL, IL — A Joliet man who is 22 years old was captured Tuesday morning and faces a $2 million bail in connection with last Wednesday's 6 p.m. shootings that injured a 17-year-old and a 24-year-old outside the Woodlands apartment complex in Crest Hill. The shootings happened in the 1800 block of Arbor Lane.

Since then, Crest Hill police got a warrant for the arrest of Dohndray D. Woods, who had been living on Peale Street in the Ingalls Park area of Joliet.

"Woods was located and arrested today and booked on charges of attempted first degree murder, aggravated battery with a firearm, armed habitual criminal, aggravated discharge of a firearm and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon," Crest Hill's chief of police Ed Clark announced.

“Mr. Woods arrest is the result of very thorough policework. Our investigators have worked tirelessly to bring this suspect into custody.”

Clark told Patch that the Oct. 15 shooting investigation remains ongoing. The pair of gunshot victims remain hospitalized, he added.
