Panera Bread Opens Drive-Thru On Jefferson St.
Were you one of the people who staked out the new Joliet restaurant in hopes of winning free food for a year?

JOLIET, IL — One of the nation's most popular quick-casual restaurant chains, Panera Bread, has finally opened its first drive-thru location in Joliet. The new restaurant opened Monday morning at 2400 West Jefferson St. The building had been an Applebee's restaurant until 2018.
Prior to Monday's grand opening, Panera Bread had been publishing advertisements on Joliet Patch alerting area residents of the following free food giveaways:
- The first 100 dine-in MyPanera members with any purchase beginning at 6 a.m. will receive a Free You Pick Two for a Year Certificate.
- The first 20 cars at the drive-thru with a MyPanera card with any purchase will receive a Free Bread for a Year certificate.
- And, throughout this week: 50 dine-in MyPanera members with any purchase throughout the day from Feb. 18-22 will be surprised with a gift card for your next visit.
