
Joseph Louis Macejik, Jr.
Age 92 years of age, of Minooka, peacefully passed away at his residence, Friday, June 7, 2024.
Joe was born March 4, 1932 in Chicago to Joseph and Marie (nee Pekarik) Macejik. Joe attended Morton High School in Cicero where he met his beloved Dorothy while they were members of the school choir. Upon graduation as part of the class of 1950, Joe joined the Air Force where
he worked as a mechanic on heavy bombers for SAC. On November 6, 1954 Joe married his high school sweetheart Dorothy. Joe was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1955 and was hired as a salesman by what would become his lifelong employer General Electric. He and Dorothy
built the family home in Cicero which soon was filled with four children. While in Cicero Joe continued to make music alongside his wife as a member of the Our Lady of Charity Church choir. After a successful 37 year career at GE Joe retired in 1992 at which point he and Dorothy
purchased the home of their dreams in the serene and special community of Minooka / Channahon. Joe became a faithful member of the St. Ann’s Catholic Church where he was a member of the men’s club. Joe was proud of his Slovak heritage and visited there multiple times as he and Dorothy traveled to many far destinations. Joe was a lifelong avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan and enjoyed watching games in person or with neighborhood friends. Joe was an even bigger fan of his children’s athletic pursuits and creative endeavors. Joe was a loving husband and
father and his gregarious personality won him many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Dorothy (nee Novotny) and his brother Louis. Joe is survived by his sister Mildred Kratovil. Two sons Joseph (Judy) Macejik, Glen (Sandra) Macejik. Two daughters Lynn West and Sharon (John) Roschay. Six grandchildren Tory, Joe, Cole, Katie, Bradley and Hillary. Four great-grandchldren.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Trinity Services (www.trinityservices.org/donate) or Lightways Hospice

Joe will be Lying in State at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 24500 S Navajo Dr, Channahon, Tuesday June 11th starting at 9:30 A.M. immediately followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 A.M. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
