JOLIET, IL — Joliet Police arrested two teenage women last Thursday night in connection with a large fight that erupted inside the Walmart store on West Jefferson Street. Several of the Walmart merchandise displays got knocked over during the fighting, and the behavior of the unruly patrons alarmed Walmart's regular customers, Joliet Police said.
In the end, officers hauled away 19-year-old Kanisha Gordon, of Plainfield, and 19-year-old Mariah Saunders, of Joliet. Both were charged with disorderly conduct.
Police were called about a large fight in progress inside the Walmart around 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 28.

Saunders was also detained, according to police.

Eventually, authorities say they got to the bottom of the incident.
"Officers were then able to determine that a large fight broke out initially between two groups of males at the checkout lanes. During the course of the fight, Gordon and Saunders joined in where displays were knocked over and damaged, alarming Walmart customers. The group of males were gone prior to police arrival," police said.
Gordon and Saunders were eventually released from custody at the Joliet Police Station on I-bonds.
