JTHS Board of Education Recognizes Joliet Central Science Team

The JTHS Board of Education recognized the Joliet Central High School Science Olympiad Team for a successful season

On March 19, 2019, the Joliet Township High School Board of Education recognized the Joliet Central High School Science Olympiad Team for a successful season. The Joliet Central Science Olympiad Team is coached by Laura Boyle and Lauren Kline.

During the Joliet West Science Olympiad Invitational on February 9th, the following Central students placed:

· Mousetrap Vehicle – Fourth Place
Sarah Hernandez and Ansel Alvarado

Faith Breauschue and Danna Montoya

· Astronomy – Third Place
Jakob Gudeman and Lesly Cervantes

The Board of Education recognized Joliet Central High School Science Olympiad team members Ansel Alvarado, Alicyn Bew, Faith Breauschue, Daisy Catalan, Lesly Cervantes, Karina Gonzalez, Jakob Gudeman, Sarah Hernandez, Ja'Denn McNealey, Danna Montoya, Yesenia Perez, Saul Ramirez, Izel Ramirez, and MacKenzie Shannon.

Boyle said, “ This was a small group compared to so many other schools, they all played a very important role, from competing, to helping each other check in builds, to changing events last minute because the need arose, and preparing testing materials. They did such a great job this season!”
