JTHS Class of 1958 Announces New Scholarships

At their 60th class reunion, the Joliet Township High School Class of 1958 announced two new scholarships, both made possible through the leadership of their Class Vice President, Gary Lichtenwalter.

Gary Lichtenwalter was born in Joliet and graduated from Joliet Township High School in 1958. Following his graduation from Joliet Junior College, he received his finance degree from the University of Illinois which, prior to his retirement, served him well as the President and CEO of Lichtenwalter Insurance. Gary is a long-time supporter of Joliet Township High School and proudly proclaims the Class of 1958 as the “Best Class Ever!"

New scholarships announced at the reunion include the JTHS Class of 1958 Blue Scholarship, a fully-funded endowed scholarship made possible by an extremely generous donation from Mr. Lichtenwalter.

In addition to the Blue Scholarship, a Gold Scholarship was established with the goal of generating $58,000. The JTHS Class of 1958 Gold Scholarship is a special way to donate in honor or memory of someone special. Demonstrating the spirit of giving once again, Mr. Lichtenwalter became the first to donate to this scholarship in memory of two beloved classmates, William J. Hinze DDS and Theodore (Ted) Latz.
