JTHS Orchestra Director Peter Lipari Receives $500 Meemic Grant for Classroom Make-Over

Orchestra Director Peter Lipari received a surprise visit from Meemic Insurance announcing he is the winner of a $500 classroom make-over.

Joliet Township High School Orchestra Director Peter Lipari received a surprise visit from Meemic Insurance today, announcing he is the winner of a $500 classroom make-over. Lipari entered the classroom make-over contest at the Illinois Music Education Conference that was held last week in Peoria, Illinois.

The award was granted from the O’Brien Educators Insurance Agency in Joliet. Every entry was carefully reviewed and the winner was selected based on criteria such as: who will benefit from the program, a demonstrated need for funding, and how the program will enhance current and future curriculum.

Joliet West High School Art Teacher Iliana Angel was awarded a grant by the Meemic Foundation last year to benefit the school’s art program by including a printmaking unit for students.
