(Troy Community School District 30-C)

First grade students at Troy Heritage Trail Elementary School will be reading to K-9 comfort dogs – here, Brutus and Nigel – once a month this year. Here, teacher Melissa Lundy is with her class. Lundy said the Lutheran Church Charities Kare-9 Military Ministry dog program is carried out by veterans. The dogs give comfort, love and support to the young students at the school.
