It is my opinion that Eric Lurry's death was not caused by intentional drug overdose. It was due to insufficient oxygen and lack of air.

If a person is in the process of loosing consciousness and displays impaired motor skills, then Rescue-Breathing needs to be performed by pinching person’s nose and providing oxygen to lungs.

Officer May performed partial Rescue-Breathing by pinching Lurry’s nose but did not provide oxygen for 2 minutes, which contributed to Lurry’s death.
You cannot expect a person to cough out contraband by pinching their nose when they are loosing consciousness and about to pass out.

If it's a conscious person that's not about to pass out then it makes sense to pinch their nose because they can easily react to it faster and spit out contraband.

In the video, it also shows Lurry displaying no sign of pain or reaction to sternum-rub when his chest is rubbed with closed fist. That also clearly indicates loss of consciousness.
So why Officer May pinched Lurry’s nose and did not provide oxygen for 2 minutes when he knew Lurry is in the process of loosing consciousness?

The answer is Hate and Malice which is proved in the video when Officer May slaps Lurry on the face and calls him "B_ _ _ _".

In life and death situations, every minute and second counts. Officer May had the opportunity to effectively use those 2 minutes to save a life but instead he maliciously used those 2 minutes to take away life and degrade it by slapping and using profanity.

A decade ago, American Heart and Lung Association have prohibited the practice of Rescue-Breathing and Nose-Pinching. Since 2010, only CPR through chest compressions is allowed as rescue procedure.
